| Accessibility: | This cemetery is located on Courtney Ridge Road off Route 14 from Elizabeth. After you turn onto Courtney Ridge you go around the water tower and about 1.8 miles down on your left. There is no sight there to say it's Sand Hill Cemetery, but you can't miss it. | |

| Comments: | Dates in Red are not inscribed on the tombstone and have either been calculated based on death date or are as a result of research on the individual. WVCPA thanks contributor Gloria Berry and her husband Ron for sharing the information and photos for this cemetery for posting on this page! She writes (on Sept. 13, 2008) that...: "...Annabell Criss didn't have a headstone, so I ordered a marker with her information. John, Chessie Leona "Ona" and Monroe's headstones have been weathered worn and unreadable. I had name markers made for them as well. John & Chessis Leona "Ona" had another daughter, Edith B. Criss... married name was Enoch. She is buried at Antioch Cemetery in Palestine... John & Ona had another son, Everett Criss (June 25, 1910 - March 17, 1991), and is buried in Cleveland, Ohio. What cemetery I don't know. They also had another daughter, Arizona, My Mom, and she is still with us thank the Lord. The pictures [on this page] were taken by my husband Ron & I on October 15 & 16, 2007 at Sand Hill when we visited last." |
