Dates in Red are not inscribed on the tombstone and have either been calculated based on death date or are as a result of research on the individual. Last cataloged by Paul & Ruth Ellis in October 1986 - photos & updates presented here are from WVCPA volunteer Terry McCallister. At the 1986 reading of the cemetery, evidence of other unmarked graves was noted. The initial information on this page has been gathered from "Putnam County Cemetery Inscriptions", published by the Upper Vandalia Historical Society. WVCPA currently has a volunteer who is working on arranging a rescue of this cemetery. Watch this page for updates! |
