Comments: Dates in Red are not inscribed on the tombstone and have either been calculated based on death date or are as a result of research on the individual.

This cemetery was visited by WVCPA volunteers in August 2007. It is a fairly "open" cemetery, in that there is a great amount of space between many of the graves. This, despite how old some of the marked graves are, normally leading to the conclusion that there could well be many unmarked (or no longer marked, due to age and deterioration of early grave markers) graves in this cemetery. The list above is most certainly an incomplete list of all the burials in this cemetery. If you have any additional information to add - additional burials based on other records or research - or general history of this cemetery and it's location near one of the earliest "tourist attractions" of (West) Virginia, namely Sweet Sulphur Springs, please let WVCPA know so that we may add it to this page. Additional photos are also desired and may be sent via email to WVCPA - with the subject line "Sweet Springs Cemetery"..
