The
cemetery is not easily accessible. Located on a hillside above Rt. 62 in
Lewis District. Contact the local
landowner before crossing the land - cattle may be present in the area. It
is strongly recommended that you park alongside Rt. 62.
According to the
directions recorded in "Mason County, W.Va. Cemetery
Inscriptions", traveling from Point Pleasant: "Near Ambrosia. Go to Oldaker store, turn around and come back about
one mile toward Point Pleasant. After passing large house then a small frame
near edge of road, park and walk to state road sign with arrow denoting
curve, follow fence line to point of hill until under poser line and three
hickory nut trees. One old boulder rock can be seen." WVCPA
volunteers who visited here in October 2007 also noted: "The
landowner is deceased and there are huge briars growing everywhere.
Several field stones mark the cemetery. The directions to the cemetery
are accurate from the Mason County Cemetery books. Follow the
power line --located between two huge white oak trees."

[Very
difficult to read the inscription on this lone tombstone - the year on the death date looks like it could be
that of Sarah A. Ward (1855), and the inscription looks to be the one
that was recorded in 1973, but it would be pretty much just a guess
- this was the only remnant of a tombstone found in the cemetery area in
October 2007]
