Information on this page courtesy of Nicholl family descendant and family researcher, Dawn Wood, as well as from a reading of the cemetery in 1969 by Juantia Burdette as published in "Mason County, W.Va. Cemetery Inscriptions" Vol. III. Further research being done by a WVCPA contributor and the cemetery caretaker, Wade Wedge (3-great grandson of the Nicholls). He adds this biographical note on the Nicholl's:

"Simpson Nicholl came from Ireland in 1850-1 to Pennsylvania and worked there till 1853 then moved to the Nicholl farm then, which has stayed in my family for 158 years. Mary Johnson (Nicholl) came with him from Ireland. They lived in a stone house on the bottom of the ridge. Their son Andrew Nicholl and wife Sarah Susan Smith, my 2nd Great Grandparents, had two dead infants that are buried there. Simpson and Mary also had four children: Andrew, John, Mary, and Elizabeth who died when she was two and was buried there as well. Andrew and John are buried down the road at Baden Baptist."
