The cemetery is located on what was once the Peter
Myers place. Local family researcher Trilby Minton recalls Peter Myers
& the cemetery:
"...when Peter Myers died ...It was all
growed up at that time but some of the men in the area cleared away some of
the brush so they had a short burial ceremony there for him as he had lived on
that farm must been all his life at least as long as I know him. He use to
come to our house on Sat. night's to listen to the Grand Ole Opera on the
radio it was a huge battery radio as at that time there wasn't no electric out
in that area. Ole Pete sure could play a good fiddle."
The only engraved marker in this cemetery is
that of Charles Hill, son of Lewis P. & Freeda Myers Hill. There are
about 8 fieldstone markers that were seen in October 2004, or what appear to
be markers, among the trees on the relatively flat area at the top of the hill
that is the cemetery. We spoke with Rev. Dennis Wolfe about the cemetery
in October, and thanked him for taking such good care of the cemetery.
