Accessibility: The cemetery is located at Southside, on the hill on the south side of Rt. 35, north of Harmony Church and about 14 miles south of Point Pleasant. There is a sign at the side of the road for the cemetery alongside a private farm driveway. From there, a well-maintained gravel road winds back up into the hill to the cemetery. Easily accessible.

Comments:

Harmony Cemetery, Mason County, West Virginia - from the center of the cemetery looking back towards the gate

Dates in Red above are not inscribed on the tombstone and have either been calculated based on death date or are as a result of research on the individual.

Harmony Church was established in 1812, and this pioneer cemetery has served the community since the early 1800's.

According to research done by Irene Brand and Violette Machir in 1967 (when this cemetery was read for "Mason County, W.Va. Cemetery Inscriptions", there are about 15 others recorded as being buried here, though the grave markers were not found at the time.  This cemetery was recently read and photographed by WVCPA volunteers. As soon as more photos are prepared and updates received, they will be posted on this page.
