Accessibility: | This cemetery is located at Grimms Landing on the site of the old Arbuckle Presbyterian Church, just south of the intersection of Tribble Road and Rt. 62, on the Kanawha River side of the railroad tracks. Easily accessible, once you cross the tracks. Be advised, these are frequently-used tracks, and at times trains will stop for a period of time blocking the driving to or from the cemetery. If you are at all concerned about being 'trapped' on the wrong side of the tracks, you may consider parking on the gravel drive between the road and the tracks themselves and walking the short distance (can't be more than 50 feet) to the cemetery gate. | |

Comments: | Dates in Red are not inscribed on the tombstone and have either been calculated based on death date or are as a result of research on the individual. This is a lovely, park-like cemetery with stately old trees and mossy lawn in the older portion of the cemetery towards the back. Very well-kept, with many very old tombstones that are no longer legible. Many of the photos of tombstones in this cemetery have been provided by Craig family researcher, Ron Craig. Our thanks to him for all his hard work and interest in sharing the photos with other researchers and family members across the country via this WVCPA page. There are many tombstones in this very old cemetery that are illegible or nearly so, as well as a number of obvious, though unmarked graves. The names listed above correspond to stones that are legible and known burials from official documents, and therefore possibly an incomplete list of all the burials in this cemetery. If you have evidence of someone buried in this cemetery not indicated above, please let WVCPA know, including your source of such information, and we will gladly add them to the above listing of interments. If you believe they should be included under the "Probable Burials" category, please indicate such when you contact us. Donations for this cemetery may be sent to the Craig-Douglass Cemetery Fund, 29605 Charleston Road, Leon, WV 25123 (address up-to-date per October 16, 2014) |
