Not easily accessible. From WVCPA
volunteers Steve & Charlotte Iman:
"From Point Pleasant, West Virginia, follow Rt. 62N to CR 1-1, Potters Creek Road.
Travel Potters Creek Road for approximately 3/4 mile to the first barricaded road
on the left side of the road. This is near the area of the "Storage Bunkers".
Park near Potters Creek Road at the first barricade on the left. Follow the old
road to the end (North, approximately 1200 yards). The road will start a gradual
turn to the right (East).
Travel this road in an Easterly direction for approximately 1/2 mile, the road
forks. Travel the left another 300 yards. Enter the woods to the left (North). The
Clendenin Cemetery is approximately 200 yards toward the top of the hill. The
cemetery can also be found by traveling the road past Pond 34, but it requires
changing paths several times."

Steve & Charlotte write in February 2009:
"The Clendenin Cemetery is an abandoned cemetery in the McClintic
Wildlife Management Area, Robinson District, Mason County, West
Virginia. It is difficult to determine the exact number of graves
present, 3 depressions were found which may possibly be graves. It
appeared that deer were "bedding down" in the area and may
have created
the depressions. Two engraved monuments were found, one was a
double monument, engraved on two sides".
Excerpt from "History of Mason County, West
Virginia" pertaining to those listed above, as submitted for that
book by Beverly Ridenour:
"James Edward Clendenin (1845-1898)

in Pleasant Flats to Andrew Clendenin (1807-1880) and wife Rebecca
Edwards (1807-1889) are buried in the Clendenin cemetery on their home
farm. James Edward was a schoolteacher, farmer and implement dealer.
He married December 1875 Ellen Fowler (1851-1892) daughter of Polly Mulford and Thomas Fowler being their eleventh child. Ellen and James

Charlotte for finding this cemetery, then reading and photographing
it for posting on this page.
