Dates in Red
are not inscribed on the tombstone and have either been calculated based on
death date or are as a result of research on the individual.

Johnson, redrawn by WVCPA >>
Note that some of the birth and death dates
and spelling of names are different from known published sources. These
differences reflect the research done by the Johnson family, and not those
of unrelated researchers or misinterpretations of hard to read inscriptions
on the tombstones. Previously published lists appear to be
duplications of the readings done on site in June 1940 by the WPA project.
Restoration and preservation of this cemetery
is underway under the auspices of Steven Johnson, the Johnson family
researcher who so generously provides the information listed here. As photos
of the project become available, they will be posted on this page.
