Date added to WVCPA register: November 2005
Condition of cemetery**: Fair-Good (October 2005)
Accessibility: This cemetery is located at Rockcastle in Jackson County.  To get to the cemetery, take the gravel road out of town heading toward Foster Ridge.  Just past the Marshall Casto home and what was once a doctor's office (now displaying the historic Rockcastle post office sign, which it also served as for many years), the road will turn to gravel and begin up the hill out of town.  A dirt road takes off to the left and follows Thirteenmile Creek.  The dirt road will lead you to the cemetery approximately 1/4 mile out the road.  We suggest that you park at the fork of the road and walk the dirt road to the cemetery.  It can be driven with a four wheel drive, but gets a little rough as you proceed up the hill to the cemetery.

Comments:

Dates or text in Red are not inscribed on the tombstone and have either been calculated based on death date or are as a result of research on the individual.

The Marshall Casto home mentioned in the directions above, is the prior home of Wm. & Mary (Harrison) Barnette (mid-1800s), Doc Kessel (early-1900s), Samuel & Lucy Belle (Casto) Simmons (early-1900s) alongside what was once a doctor's office and the post office in Rockcastle (still sporting the historic Rockcastle post office sign, where Marshall's mother Minnie was the postmistress for 22 years).

On the date of the last visit to this cemetery in October 2005 by WVCPA volunteer Rick Hill, he reported that it was well fenced and all in all in fair to good shape.
