A note from the submitter, Melanie Whittington: 

"The MacDonald cemetery is my pet project, I have a Civil War veteran buried there, Wyatt Sumner and his wife Rachel. There are actually about 5 Civil Veterans from each side there so this really is a historical place. This cemetery has been neglected for decades and I am trying to bring it back to its beauty. It is so grown up that from the road you can't tell it's a cemetery. It is really sad to even look at with the ghostly stones rising up out of the brush and briers. It is on a hillside so it is very hard and dangerous to clean. The boy scouts tried to clean it up years ago and I think they hurt it more than they helped, there are big piles of limbs where they started clearing and piles of headstones where they were stacked up, I guess to put back at some time, but it never got done."
